The Bachelor of Bosnian Language and Literature program at the University of Mostar’s Faculty of Humanities is designed to provide comprehensive training in Bosnian philology, literature, linguistics, and cultural studies. The curriculum covers eight semesters (four years, 240 ECTS credits) and combines foundational courses in the history of Bosnian literacy and language formation with advanced studies of Bosnian literature within its South Slavic and wider European context. Students progress from core knowledge in the first two years to specialized, methodologically informed studies in their third and fourth years. The program prepares graduates for teaching careers in primary and secondary education but also equips them for cultural and public sector roles requiring high-level linguistic competence, critical analysis, and understanding of Bosnian cultural heritage. The faculty emphasizes the importance of classical knowledge and its application in modern contexts, aiming to foster an active, professional, and socially engaged graduate profile. Upon completion, students are awarded the title Professor of Bosnian Language and Literature and become eligible for master's level studies (one-year, 60 ECTS), further expanding their professional horizons in education, research, and cultural mediation.[1]
