The Bachelor of Visual Communication Design at Istanbul Gedik University is a four-year undergraduate program under the Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture, established in 2012. The program is designed to develop expert communication designers capable of working in diverse areas such as media and television, advertising, graphic and digital design, multimedia, animation and character design, web design, desktop publishing, typography, game design, generative art, multimedia, and virtual reality. Students learn to combine artistic creativity with technological skills, engaging with contemporary media while developing a strong foundation in visual literacy, critical thinking, and analytical skills. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on learning through projects and design practice, and aims to cultivate professionals who are socially responsible, empathetic, and capable of addressing new trends in digital media. Graduates can pursue positions such as art manager, graphic designer, multimedia designer, web designer, advertising specialist, animator, and interactive media designer in the private sector, public institutions, local government, or NGOs. The department encourages participation in student exchange programs to increase international awareness and practical experience.[2][4]
