The Bachelor of Pilotage (English) at Istanbul Aydın University is a four year undergraduate professional program designed to train qualified commercial airline pilots in accordance with national and international aviation standards. Offered within the Faculty of Aviation and accredited by YÖK, the program integrates academic aviation education with intensive flight training to prepare graduates for professional pilot careers in the civil aviation sector.
The curriculum combines theoretical aviation knowledge with practical flight instruction. Students study subjects such as aerodynamics, aircraft systems, aviation meteorology, air navigation, flight planning, aviation law, air traffic control procedures, aviation safety, human factors, and flight performance. These courses provide a strong foundation in aviation science and operational regulations.
Flight training is conducted in cooperation with authorized flight training organizations using certified aircraft and simulators. Students complete ground school training, simulator sessions, and supervised flight hours in accordance with civil aviation authority requirements. Training covers visual flight rules and instrument flight rules, cross country flights, emergency procedures, and multi engine operations.
The English medium instruction reflects the international language of aviation and prepares students to operate in global airspace environments. Communication skills in aviation phraseology and operational English are emphasized throughout the program.
Graduates receive the Bachelor’s degree along with the necessary flight training qualifications required for commercial pilot licensing, subject to meeting all regulatory and flight hour requirements. They may pursue careers as commercial airline pilots, first officers, corporate pilots, or continue advanced type rating training with airlines.
Pilotage remains a highly specialized and regulated profession requiring technical precision, responsibility, and strong decision making skills. The program prepares graduates to meet the professional standards of the aviation industry and contribute to safe and efficient air transport operations.
