The Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at Hacettepe University is a comprehensive, four-year undergraduate program designed to educate future occupational therapists with a robust theoretical and practical foundation. Established in 2009, it was the first occupational therapy undergrad department in Turkey and is internationally recognized, approved by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT). The curriculum spans eight semesters and requires the completion of 240 ECTS credits, covering foundational sciences (chemistry, physics, biology, anatomy, physiology) and core occupational therapy topics such as assessment, therapeutic interventions, rehabilitation, and professional ethics. Specialized instruction includes sensory integration, pediatric, oncological, vocational, geriatric, and psychiatric rehabilitation, as well as community mental health, driver and home rehabilitation, and ergonomics. Practical experience is integrated through summer and senior year internships in diverse clinical and community settings. Graduates are equipped with lifelong learning skills and can pursue advanced training or work in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, schools, nursing homes, and other public or private health institutions, both in Turkey and internationally.
