The Bachelor program in Aircraft Airframe and Powerplant Maintenance at Erciyes University (Uçak Gövde Motor Bölümü) is designed to produce highly qualified technical personnel capable of maintaining and servicing modern aircraft fuselage and engine systems. The program reflects the aviation sector’s increasing need for multidisciplinary collaboration and advanced technical expertise, focusing on high-tech fuselage and engine structures. Education is delivered under the authorization of the Turkish Directorate General of Civil Aviation as an SHY-147 Approved Maintenance Training Organization. Students receive comprehensive theoretical education supported by intensive practical training in specialized workshops (Aerodynamics, Aircraft Engines, Control, Composite, Welding, Coating) and computer laboratories. Practical experience is further enriched through hands-on training in aircraft maintenance hangars at the university and leading facilities such as THY Teknik A.Ş., myTECHNIC Aircraft Maintenance Center, and the Air Supply and Maintenance Command. The curriculum requires students to complete an internship of 30 days at major aviation companies, including Turkish Airlines and TAI, ensuring direct exposure to real-world industry standards and practices. Graduates are eligible to work as licensed aircraft maintenance personnel in both public and private aviation institutions, such as Turkish Airlines, Turkish Air Force, and Pegasus, fulfilling key roles essential for flight safety and regulatory compliance. Academic staff include experienced associate professors, PhDs, and industry experts, guaranteeing education aligned with global and national aviation maintenance requirements[4].
