The Associate of Foreign Trade (English) at Istanbul Aydın University is a two year vocational higher education program designed to train qualified professionals for export and import operations in international trade environments. Offered within the Vocational School and accredited by YÖK, the program focuses on practical knowledge of foreign trade procedures, customs regulations, and international business operations.
The curriculum begins with foundational courses in economics, business administration, accounting, and international trade principles. Students develop an understanding of global markets, trade policies, and the structure of international commerce.
As the program progresses, students study foreign trade operations, customs legislation, import and export documentation, international marketing, logistics management, trade finance, and payment methods such as letters of credit. Emphasis is placed on preparing trade documents, managing customs procedures, calculating costs, and coordinating logistics processes.
Students gain practical skills in analyzing foreign markets, preparing export and import files, communicating with international partners, and managing shipment procedures. The English medium instruction enhances their ability to operate in global trade environments and communicate effectively with foreign clients and suppliers.
Internship opportunities provide hands on experience in export import companies, customs brokerage firms, logistics companies, banks, and international trading firms. These internships allow students to observe and participate in real trade operations.
Graduates pursue careers as foreign trade assistants, export and import operation officers, customs documentation staff, logistics coordinators, and trade support specialists. They may work in manufacturing companies engaged in export, trading firms, logistics providers, and financial institutions. Many graduates continue their education through vertical transfer to bachelor’s programs in international trade, business administration, or related fields.
