The Audiometry Associate Degree program at Fırat University Health Services Vocational School is a two-year, four-semester curriculum designed to train health technicians skilled in assessing hearing and balance disorders. Established in 2020, the program combines intensive theoretical instruction and hands-on practice. Students conduct practical applications in the Ear, Nose, and Throat Department of Fırat University Medical Faculty Hospital, gaining exposure to real clinical environments and technological advancements. The curriculum covers foundational sciences such as physiology, anatomy, and biophysics, as well as specialized topics like hearing measurement, audiological evaluation, clinical practice, hearing loss diagnostics, and the use of audiometry devices. Practical field training ensures students are prepared to assist audiologists and ENT specialists in hospitals, audiology clinics, schools, and neonatal hearing screening programs. Upon graduation, students hold the title of 'Audiometry Technician' and may pursue further studies in fields such as Audiology or transfer to related undergraduate programs. With a quota of 40 students and instruction delivered by both program faculty and other university departments, the program aims to provide nationally and internationally competitive training.
