The Bachelor of Albanian Language and Literature program at Trakya University, part of the Faculty of Letters' Department of Balkan Languages and Literatures, was established in the 2007-2008 academic year. The program is designed to impart an in-depth understanding of the Albanian language, its literature, history, culture, and folklore. Students receive comprehensive training that enables them to express themselves fluently in Albanian, both orally and in writing, and to analyze the historical and cultural development of the Albanian-speaking world. The curriculum covers the evolution of the Albanian language, literature, its connections with other Balkan cultures, and the impact of these relationships on Turkish and broader Balkan geographies. The program includes opportunities for cultural and academic exchanges through initiatives like the Mevlana Exchange Program. Graduates of this program can pursue careers as translators, educators, researchers, or continue with graduate-level studies in related fields. The department commonly enrolls about 30 students per year, with a focus on fostering cross-cultural competencies that are increasingly valued in academia, governmental, and international organizations.
